Potential Analysis and Development Strategies Based on Zoning For Beef Cattle Farming in Kepulauan Bangka-Belitung Province

This research was aimed in detemining the potency mapping and development strategies based on zoning for beef cattle farming Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province. implemented by using two-stages survey method. The first stage analyzing making regional from secondary data with potential index analyses. second observing results of observation, an in-depth interview, focus group discussion towards 42 respondents consisted 14 farmers, 5 sellers, agriculture agency officers, 18 officials who were charge function regency/city. Purposive sampling used to choose respondents. Meanwhile, analysis SWOT analysis. showed that had highest (the most potential). Pangkalpinang lowest (potential). qualitative resulted strategy SO (Strength-Opportunity), WO (Weakness-Opportunity), ST (Strength-Treat), WT (Weakness-Threats). Qualitative internal factor -0,153 (x) external 0,34 (y). quadrant III; changing policies minimizing weakness take advantage opportunities. RTRW documents result generated 6 (six) zones priorities. Thus, plan priority zones: 1). I: production center product processing Tengah; 2) II: Cattle farmer integration Bangka, Barat, Timur; 3) III: a previously ex-mining land 4) IV: local feed Selatan; 5) V: Modern farm technology-based Pangkalpinang; 6) VI: Animal agrotourism Belitung.
